Winter Session
Happy New Year! I am going to be offering acting classes at my new studio in 30 Cutler Mills (#205) in Warren, RI! Dancing River Arts Studio is a destination for all sorts of classes, (check out the FB page) but I'm putting the word out right now to anyone who'd like to sign up for Intro to Shakespeare Acting (Mondays 1/28-3/25/19), Auditioning (Tuesdays 1/29-3/26/19), and Scene Study (Wednesdays 1/30-3/27/19) All Classes run 8 weeks from 6:30-9:30 p.m. and tuition is $175 per class. There will be a 12 person limit for each class. Instant message me, email me or call me to get in touch or if you have questions! I also do private coaching if you're schedule doesn't fit the classes above.
Soap Making for Ages 10 and Up Instructor: Wendy Overly
Learn how to make all natural vegan soap from scratch! You will be learning the hot process method. Each class is one 2 1/2 hour session, with a trip back to the studio 24 hours later to un-mold, slice and transport your soap home.
Saturdays, 10:00-12:00 p.m.

Cost of Class: $75.00 includes the cost of materials necessary for the project. The soap will be in a mold that will yield 11 bars of soap.

Beginning Quilting – Baby or Throw Quilt Instructor: Wendy Overly
Skills learned will include fabric and color selection, rotary cutter and mat techniques, hand/machine piecing, assembly of the top, batting and back, basting, quilting and binding your piece.
Thursday nights, 6:00-8:30 p.m. Four Sessions: you pick the dates
Cost of Class: $150.00 plus materials
A pattern and materials list will be given prior to the first class, which will meet at a local fabric store. All four classes after that will take place at the studio. Please bring a sewing machine if you have one.

*Friday Night Out! Wine and Fabric Decoupage on Glass
Gather your favorite group of people for an evening of creativity! Bring your own bottle of wine, and snacks/wine glasses will be provided! Learn the beautiful technique of fabric decoupage on glass. You may bring a glass vase or a bowl of your choice, but one will be provided for you if you don’t have one around the house. (the clear glass vases that come from floral shops are ideal) Come enjoy a casual, relaxing, music-filled evening with your friends.

Spring Session
Beginning Acting for Adults
If you have ever thought of trying some acting, or want an opportunity to have some creative play-time in your schedule, this beginning acting class is for you! This 7-week course will include theatre games and the basics of acting techniques including voice and body work, improvisation, and some script work. The 7th class will finish with a presentation of scenes and monologues. It’s low pressure, engaging, entertaining and loads of laughs!

Crazy Quilting
This patchwork technique is made of irregular patches combined with little or no regard to pattern. This technique is fun and easy, and you can use up your scraps or use pieces from garments you are no longer using but evoke a sweet memory. Many people have built crazy quilts with their children's baby clothes. Techniques learned include sewing onto muslin foundations, machine and hand embroidering, and attaching the backing, quilting and binding. Check out this link about the history of crazy quilting:
